Thousands of vulnerable individuals in Somalia received 400 metric tons of supplies from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) this week.
The donation included essential hygiene, health, and nutrition supplies.
UNICEF delivered the supplies to the horde of vulnerable women and children around the country.
This year, thousands of Somalis have experienced multiple humanitarian crises from the COVID-19 pandemic, locust infestation, and heavy floods.
The crises have left more people around the country in need of humanitarian assistance and organizations such as UNICEF have stepped in to provide essential supplies.
This week alone, the organization donated life-saving supplies to different parts of the country.
UNICEF announced this incredible milestone on Thursday, September 17 as part of its efforts to increase awareness of the challenges facing vulnerable families in Somalia.
