The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) distributed 2.7 million insecticidal nets to Somalis in 2022.
UNICEF carried out this exercise successfully through mass campaigns in various parts of the country.
It worked closely with the federal Ministry of Health to achieve this milestone.
The distribution of the long-lasting nets was mostly centred around areas where the risk of contracting malaria remains quite high.
