The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has helped to re-enroll in schools in the clash-ridden city of Las Anod.
The headteacher of the Imam Nawawi School said that his institution had re-enrolled 145 schoolchildren with the help of UNICEF and other partners.
UNICEF and other partners have made this possible through the cash-based programs that they run in the region.
Las Anod has been in conflict for the past four months.
The conflict interfered with learning thus forcing many students to abandon classes.
Thus far, the program has witnessed the transfer of more than 1,200 schoolchildren to schools supported by UNICEF in the area.
