The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) launched the 2023 Lancet Series of Breastfeeding in Hargeisa.

The organization’s officials partnered with their colleagues from the World Health Organization (WHO) and The Lancet in launching the breastfeeding series.
The series seeks to highlight the dangers of poor nutrition in newborns.
Over the years, UNICEF has noted the importance of good nutrition to newborns in the first 1,000 days of their lives.
Speakers at the launch encouraged new mothers to breastfeed their babies exclusively in the first six months.
