The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has launched a social cash transfer payment for pregnant Somali women.
Lactating mothers in the country are also in line to benefit from the payment, which is part of the child-sensitive social protection program.
UNICEF launched the program jointly with the Somali Cash Consortium.
For the next 18 months, the program is to benefit more than 27,000 families around the country.
