UNICEF Reintegrated over 1,700 Children from Militia Groups in 2020

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reintegrated over 1,700 children who used to be in militia groups.

This was revealed when the organization released its latest annual report.

In the report, UNICEF mentioned that it successfully reintegrated close to 2,000 children who took part in armed conflicts in different parts of Somalia.

The children were rehabilitated and reintegrated back to their respective communities all over the country.

UNICEF undertook the reintegration program with the support of the Embassy of Denmark in Somalia and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

EU’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid also played a role in supporting the reintegration of the children all over the East African nation.
