The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) claims that the ongoing drought in Somalia has displaced more than 700,000 individuals.
UNICEF published its latest report on the ongoing situation on March 17.
In its report, the global organization stated that cases of measles and cholera have also shot up considerably as drought worsens.
UNICEF also concludes that the situation is having a severe impact on Somalia’s rural communities around the country.
As per the UNICEF report, livestock now faces multiple threats.
Desert locusts and climate shocks have left Somali farmers around the country in a much more dire situation too.
