UNICEF Somalia has urged parents, guardians, and caregivers in the country to take their children to health care facilities for vaccinations.
The organization published this message on Monday, August 31.
This year, parents have been a bit hesitant to send their children to hospitals and dispensaries over COVID-19 fears.
The situation was worsened by the decision by healthcare workers to stay away from such facilities because of COVID-19.
In this week’s message, UNICEF Somalia reminded parents that vaccines for other diseases are readily available throughout the country.
Consequently, it encouraged parents to protect their children through the vaccines.
