The United Kingdom is interested in playing its role to ensure that Somaliland is stable and secure.
Andrew Mitchell, the UK Minister of State for International Cooperation and Africa, said this while answering a question at the British parliament.
He said that the UK remains cognizant of the importance of security and stability in Somaliland.
Mitchell was responding to a question on the Las Anod situation.
He added that the UK has forged close working relationships with other international friends to address the challenges Somaliland faces.
The minister reiterated that the UK urged all parties to remain calm despite the situation.
