The United Nations (UN) has pledged to continue supporting Somalia’s fight against terrorism.

Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary General, made this announcement while condemning the deadly terror attack that took place in Galkayo on December 18.

The Friday attack reportedly targeted Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who was scheduled to visit the region.

Guterres sent messages of condolences to the bereaved families while wishing the injured quick recovery.

In his statement, Guterres urged the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) through Somali Police Force (SPF) and other security agencies to launch speedy investigations into the matter.
