Unknown gunmen shot and killed a Somali national in South Africa on Sunday, authorities have confirmed.
According to authorities, the Somali national was in his shop in Cape Town together with a colleague when the gunmen arrived and started shooting them.
His colleague said the gunmen shot the victim several times in the chest before looting the shop and taking off.
The gunmen fled from the scene of their crime immediately thereafter.
Afterward, South African police arrived at the scene and commenced investigations although no arrests have been made yet.
South Africa has been the scene of countless attacks against foreigners. Xenophobic attacks break out from time to time.
The identity of the Somali national is yet to be revealed. Police say they would reveal his identity after notifying his family.
