Unknown gunmen shot and killed an officer working for the Ministry of Finance in Benadir, Somalia last night.
Security authorities confirmed that the incident took place in Jamhuriya, Karaan district in Benadir.
Reports indicate that a group of unidentified young men accosted the officer whom they shot in the head.
At the time of the incident, the officer was heading home from work.
The assailants then fled the scene before officers arrived and took the body to the CID headquarters for further investigation.
Officers announced that they have commenced investigations into the incident with the intention of arresting the culprits and presenting them to court as soon as possible.
