The head of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has expressed delight at the construction of two new police stations in Dhusamareb and Galkayo.
UNOPS chief Jorge Moreira da Silva commended the organization for constructing and handing over the police stations in both towns.
Silva termed the move a “milestone” not only for the regional state of Galmudug but also for Somalia as a nation.
Further, the UNOPS head singled out the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom for the roles they played in ensuring that the stations were up and running.
“It gives me great pleasure to see the role that the EU, UK, and Germany play in ensuring that Somalia remains a safe and secure country for its inhabitants,” added da Silva.
