UNSC Calls for Resumption of FGS-FMS Talks in Somalia

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has called for the resumption of electoral talks in Somalia.

On April 20, the UNSC made this call after receiving the latest updates from James Swan, the UN Special Representative to Somalia.

In its communiqué to Somalia, UNSC called for the resumption of talks between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS).

Additionally, UNSC is scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss the political stalemate in the East African nation at any time now.
