The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) has strongly condemned the recent terror attack that targeted Somali and Turkish workers in Somalia.
UNSOM issued a statement that blasted terrorists for such a cowardly act.
On January 1, two Turkish workers lost their lives when Al-Shabaab militants attacked them at a Mogadishu-Afgoye construction site.
Several Somali workers also lost their lives while more than five people were rushed to hospital with various injuries.
UNSOM said that it was sad to see people who were working on such an important infrastructural project lose their lives.
It said that the infrastructure, the Mogadishu-Afgoye Road, was critical for the welfare of all Somalis.
The organization sent messages of condolences to the families of the deceased workers while wishing the injured speedy recovery.
