United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) has condemned the recent mortar shells attack at Halane Base Camp.
The heavily fortified base camp was hit by mortar shells on March 9.
James Swan, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General condemned the Monday attack.
Six rounds of mortar shells hit the base camp, which also hosts the offices of the UN and several Somalia’s international partners.
Swan said that the attack at the facility located within the perimeter of the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu was quite devastating.
He wished the injured speedy recovery.
The Special Representative assured the people of Somalia that the country’s international partners remain committed to standing by them despite such setbacks.
