The Somali Air Force officers and National Army’s special unit, DANAB, are participating in a 6-week on-the-job training on aviation meteorology, facilitated by the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS).
The training is designed to enhance their understanding of weather phenomena and improve their ability to interpret meteorological data for better aviation operations in Somalia.
The curriculum also includes critical areas such as Aviation Security (AVSEC), Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF), and Loadmaster/Cargo Handling, all of which are essential for ensuring safety and efficiency in aviation-related activities.
This training marks a significant step in strengthening the operational capacity of Somalia’s aviation and security forces.
