UNSOS Receives $2 Million from the US for Counterterrorism Operations in Somalia

The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has received $2 million from the United States to support the ongoing counterterrorism operations in Somalia.

The US Department of State handed over the funds to UNSOS on Monday.

According to the State Department, the funds will be under the UNSOS Trust Fund.

Shane Dixon, the Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Somalia, said that the funds provide security forces with the logistical support that they need.

Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, the Head of UNSOS, reiterated the importance of the funds.
