Larry Andre, the United States Ambassador to Somalia, supports calls for renewed talks between Somalia and Somaliland.
Amb. Andre threw his weight behind calls for the talks in his meeting with Abdikarim Hussein Guled on Wednesday.
Guled is the Special Envoy for Somaliland Affairs.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently appointed him to that office a few days ago.
In their phone conversation, Guled and Amb. Andre discussed the urgent need for Somalia-Somaliland talks.
Guled has held meetings and discussions with various leaders in and out of Somalia to seek their support for the upcoming talks.
