The United States Ambassador to Somalia visited Hargeisa on Thursday.
Ambassador Richard H. Riley made the historic visit to the Somaliland capital for talks with President Muse Bihi Abdi and other members of his government.
According to the US Embassy in Mogadishu, Amb. Riley also met with members of the civil society and the local business community.
The Ambassador appealed for dialogue and cooperation in the region to resolve security and diplomatic challenges.
He made this appeal in the wake of the ongoing row between Somaliland, and Somalia over the agreement the former signed with Ethiopia.
