The United States has condemned a deadly terror attack carried out by Al-Shabaab militants in a Mogadishu hotel.
The US Department of State issued a statement on Saturday, August 20 condemning the attack that left 20 people dead.
Al-Shabaab attacked Hayat Hotel after forcing their way in via a series of explosions.
They then took control of the hotel for the next 30 hours from Friday evening.
The US Embassy in Mogadishu relayed a message of condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the attack.
It also wished quick recovery to all those injured in the shocking incident.
The US pledged to join hands with Somali authorities to hold the murderers accountable and help rebuild the country.
