The United States could boost its military presence in Somalia.
Pentagon announced its intentions to add more troops to Somalia to help maintain security and boost stability in the East African nation.
General Stephen Townsend, the head of the US African Command (AFRICOM), confirmed this to the Senate on Tuesday, March 15.
Former US President had ordered the military to withdraw from Somalia.
He issued this directive in the last days of his presidency.
Gen. Townsend said that the absence of US military in Somalia has emboldened Al-Shabaab militants to increase their attacks in the country.
