US Donates 198,900 Doses of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccines to Somalia

The United States has donated 198,900 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to Somalia.

The East African nation received the doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the US Embassy in Mogadishu.

This was the sixth such delivery by the US government to Somalia.

Somalia received the latest batch of COVID-19 vaccines through the partnership between the US and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and African Union (AU) also played a role in ensuring that the East African nation received the vaccines.
