US Embassy Commends Qoorqoor for Role in Election Talks

The United States Embassy in Somalia has commended President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor of Galmudug state for his role in facilitating elections talks.

The Embassy stated this while congratulating the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) for the ongoing talks in Mogadishu.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of FGS, President Qoorqoor of Galmudug and President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland are all in Mogadishu.

They have been joined by President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland and President Abdiaziz Lafta-Gareen of the Southwest state.

Mayor Omar M. M. Filish of Mogadishu is also at the talks.

The US Embassy showered Qoorqoor with praise for demonstrating solid leadership to ensure that the talks, which started in Dhusamareb, are successful.

Further, the Embassy praised the people of Galmudug for hosting the Dhusamareb I, II, and III talks that allowed FGS and FMS to meet and discuss elections-related issues.
