The United States Embassy in Somalia has expressed deep concern at the attack that Al-Shabaab carried out in Hiiraan on Friday night.
On Saturday, September 3, the US Embassy issued a statement condemning the attack that left around 20 people dead.
US Embassy spoke out against the attack considering that those killed were traveling in food trucks.
In its statement, the Embassy said that Al-Shabaab is denying food from reaching those who need it the most in the region.
It also criticized Al-Shabaab for destroying the wells that quench the thirst of the locals.
The US Embassy called out Al-Shabaab for displaying “complete disregard” for human life.
