US Embassy in Djibouti Finally Issues Visas to Somaliland Cabinet Ministers

The United States Embassy in Djibouti has finally issued visas to two Somaliland cabinet ministers.

Early on March 13, news broke out that the Embassy denied visas to the two ministers.

Apparently, the US Embassy considered them culpable for the recent eviction of over 1,500 Somalis from Las Anod.

The ministers in question are Saleban Koore and Mohamed Kahin.

Koore is the Minister of Information while Kahin serves as the Minister of Interior.

The US Embassy granted them visas upon the intervention of the Djiboutian government.

Heritage Foundation, the organization behind President Muse Bihi Abdi’s tour to the US, also stepped in to ensure the ministers got their visas.
