The United States has offered a reward of $10 million for information that leads to the arrest of one of Al-Shabaab’s leaders.
A notice from the State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program offered a monetary reward to anyone who provides accurate details on the whereabouts of Abu Ubaidah.
Ubaidah, who is also known as Ahmed Diriye or Ahmed Umar, is described as a high-ranking official within the militant group.
He took over from Ahmed Abdi Godane who died while leading Al-Shabaab.
At the time of Godane’s demise, Ubaidah had been serving as one of the most influential members of his inner circle.
