The United States has announced plans to conduct a military drill in Somaliland’s Berbera Port.
Information from Washington DC indicates that the US plans to carry out a massive military drill in February 2023.
The drill would be a joint effort between the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) and armed forces from Horn of Africa nations.
The US announced that some of the troops have already inspected Berbera Port ahead of the drill.
Similar drills are scheduled for other African nations such as Botswana, Uganda, Djibouti, Rwanda, and Kenya.
More than 20 countries will send their troops for the drill at Berbera Port.
Sources have intimated that the drill kicks the new security and diplomatic cooperation that the US and Somaliland recently agreed upon.
