The United States Secretary of Defense has commended President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia for reinvigorating security forces.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III said this when he met President Mohamud in Washington DC on Thursday, September 15.
The Somali President arrived in the US on Thursday for a series of meetings.
Austin III received him when he arrived at the Pentagon headquarters.
According to Austin III, President Mohamud’s leadership has reinvigorated security forces in the East African nation.
Further, under his leadership, Somali security agencies have proactively engaged with the US and other international partners.
