The United States is ready to work closely with Somalia to reform public finance management (PFM) in the country.
The US offered this assurance through its Embassy in Mogadishu.
According to a statement from the US Embassy, Somalia needs all the help and support it can get to reform it’s public finance management.
It called on the international community to support Somalia in this regard too.
The US spoke a few moments after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank cancelled the $4.5 billion worth of debt owed by Somalia.
The US stated that the government is willing to support Somalia in managing public debt too.
