The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated $86.7 million for development programs in Somalia.
USAID donated the funds on Wednesday, September 28.
Several senior Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) officers received the funds on behalf of the East African nation.
These included Dr. Elmi M. Nur and Mohamud Beenebeene.
Dr. Nur is the federal Minister of Finance while Beenebeene serves as the Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development.
The two ministers signed an agreement with Larry Andre, the US Ambassador to Somalia.
During the signing ceremony, they indicated that the funds would support programs that enhance Somalia’s revival.
