Abdirahman Saylici, the Vice President of Somaliland, has encouraged foreign countries to open representative offices in the country.
Saylici made this announcement on Thursday during the opening ceremony for Taiwan’s Representative Office in Somaliland.
Taiwan becomes one of the first countries to establish a representative office in Somaliland, which has been yearning for international recognition for decades.
The opening ceremony took place on August 17.
Somaliland has also opened its Representative Office in Taiwan, as the two nations seek to establish strong diplomatic ties between themselves.
Saylici urged Somaliland’s neighbors in the region to follow Taiwan’s example.
He told them that the country is full of investment opportunities, which the neighboring nations and the international community is welcome to take advantage of.
