The victorious Somalia Under-17 national football team has arrived back in the country after their successful exploits in Ethiopia.
The plane carrying the boys landed at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu on Monday, October 17.
They had been in Ethiopia for the 2022 Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) U17 tournament.
The boys won the tournament after beating South Sudan 3-1 in the finals held on Saturday.
They are the first national team from Somalia to win a major championship.
They were also the first national team from Somalia to qualify for the finals of a major championship.
Members of Parliament (MPs), ministers, senior government officials, and members of the public were all at the airport to accord the players a warm welcome.
