President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with CIA Director William J. Burns in Mogadishu on Friday to discuss advancing collaboration in security and counterterrorism efforts.
Accompanied by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Director Abdullahi Sanboolshe, the talks highlighted both nations’ commitment to reinforcing Somalia’s security landscape.
Burns praised Somalia’s progress in its campaign against Al-Shabaab, acknowledging the significance of Somali-led initiatives in enhancing regional stability and addressing militant threats.
This meeting underscores the ongoing partnership between Somalia and the U.S. in tackling security challenges, with a particular focus on counterterrorism operations.
