Distribution of Voters Cards Launched in Mogadishu’s Hodan District

Mogadishu, Somalia – The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) launched voter card distribution in Hodan district today.

Mohamed Amin Hassan, Chairperson of the Sub-Committee for National Election Operations, announced that the commission has officially started issuing voter cards in Hodan, allowing all registered voters to collect them.

“I call on the public and all Somali citizens to come forward and collect their voter cards so they can participate in the upcoming elections. Today, we officially launched the distribution of voter cards in Hodan district,” said the Chairperson.

Abdikarim Ali, a person with special needs who collected his voter card in Hodan today, also urged citizens to take part.

“People, come out and get your voter cards. We are ready to serve you here in Hodan district,” he said.

The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) previously launched similar voter card distribution in seven other districts of the Banaadir region. According to NIEBC, residents of the capital are expected to head to the polls on the 25th of next month for the Banaadir Regional Council elections.
