Traders at the Waaheen Market in Hargeisa are already assured of close to $3 million for losses incurred during Friday’s devastating fire.
The April 1 fire left close to 2,000 traders without goods and business premises.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble informed the public that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) would support the traders with $1 million.
Additionally, the traders are to receive $2 million from the business community in Mogadishu.
The emergency cash is to be disbursed to the traders with immediate effect, as per the directive from the Prime Minister.
