The leader of Wadajir Party, Abdirahman Abdishakur, has condemned the decision by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to appoint Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama into his cabinet.
Abdishakur congratulated Roble for appointing a new cabinet on Monday, October 19.
However, he believes that the inclusion of Jama into the newly-appointed cabinet is a huge blemish.
Abdishakur said that Jama’s direct involvement in the attack carried out at the headquarters of Wadajir Party in December 2017 is impossible to connect.
Further, he said that the fact Roble appointed Jama the new Minister of Justice worsens the situation.
In 2017, Jama was the Acting Director of the National Intelligence and Security agency (NISA).
Wadajir Party issued a statement dated October 19 stating that Jama’s appointment into cabinet proves that President Mohamed Farmaajo is interested in rewarding “murderers.”
The statement from the party seems to cast aspersions at Roble’s ability to work independently of President Farmaajo.
The opposition party urged him to distance himself from individuals with “dark history of trampling the law and committing human rights abuses.”
Roble’s new cabinet now awaits approval from the Federal Parliament.
