Abdirahman Abdishakur, the leader of the opposition Wadajir Party, has asked Turkey to explain the drones it donated to Somalia on December 10.
The first batch of the Bayraktar drones donated to Somalia arrived in the country on Friday, December 10.
Abdishakur has urged Turkey to explain how the drones would be used in Somalia.
In his statement released on Saturday, Abdishakur said that the mandate of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo is over.
Consequently, Farmaajo’s administration has no moral authority or power to make decisions on security and war.
He asked Turkey to follow up with Farmaajo’s regime to ensure that the drones are only used in the fight against terrorism.
The Wadajir Party leader expressed fear and concern that Farmaajo might use the drones against individuals in the country who oppose his rule.
