One of Somalia’s opposition parties provided a list of items that were destroyed by the newly appointed Minister of Justice in 2017.
Wadajir Party released the list a few days after its leader, Abdirahman Abdishakur, voiced concern with the appointment of Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama as justice minister.
On Monday October 19, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble announced the appointment of Jama as the new Minister of Justice.
In 2017, Jama was the Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) when Wadajir Party’s headquarters were destroyed by the agency’s officers.
On October 22, the opposition party listed laptops, smartphones, cheque books, passports, and electronics in the list of items destroyed during the raid in its offices on December 24, 2017.
Wadajir Party said that the value of all the items destroyed during the raid was over US$500,000.
