Waddani Party Leader Warns Bihi against Delaying Somaliland’s Presidential Elections

The leader of the opposition Waddani Party has spoken out against the rumored plans by Somaliland’s President to delay presidential elections in the country.

Abdirahman Irro, the leader of the opposition party, warned President Muse Bihi Abdi against “dictatorial” tendencies.

Lately, there have been reports that Bihi could delay or postpone the presidential elections, which are due in November 2022.

He spoke after talks that were designed to resolve the electoral crisis in Hargeisa on May 26 collapsed.

Consequently, Irro and other opposition parties have called for protests around the country against plans to delay the polls.
