Al-Shabaab has denied the explanation by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) that it killed agent Ikran Tahlil.
This week, NISA released a press statement accusing the militants of killing the female agent.
Her mother refuted NISA’s explanation saying that the spy agency should be more truthful.
On September 4, Al-Shabaab posted a message on a website associated with it over this story. In their statement, the militants said despite targeting NISA officials in the past, they are innocent on this one.
Ikran had been missing since June 26 when unknown people abducted her.
The agent’s disappearance had created a great deal of pressure from different quarters.
Ikran’s family and political leaders continuously pressured the government to provide information on her whereabouts.
