Representatives of the World Food Program (WFP) held discussions with their colleagues from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the drought in Somalia.
Discussions between both sides took place on February 22.
El-Khidir Daloum, the WFP Country Director for Somalia, and Mohamed Ahmed Al-Hammadi, led their respective sides during the discussions.
Al-Hammadi is the UAE Ambassador to Somalia.
Somalia is currently experiencing its worst drought of the last 40 years.
More than 4 million people in the country are at risk of hunger, starvation, disease, and death from the drought.
The drought could have a devastating impact on the country, which is already on its knees from pre-existing vulnerabilities.
