The World Food Programme (WFP) has expressed gratitude to Japan for supporting its school feeding program in Somalia.
WFP hailed the role that the Japanese government continues to play to support the home-grown school feeding program that the organization runs.
“Through Japan’s support, we have been able to run the school feeding program by buying fruits and vegetables produced locally,” WFP said in its statement.
It added that such support has boosted the local economy while ensuring that schoolchildren have access to regular and nutritious meals.
