The World Food Program (WFP) has announced plans to cut food rations in Somalia from June 2021.
On March 22, the WFP issued a press statement to this effect.
In its press release, WFP says that it has no funds to maintain the provision of foods to over 1 million Somalis in the country facing hunger and starvation.
The news is bad for millions of Somalis in the country who have already seen a huge reduction in their daily food supplies.
Somalia has millions of people facing hunger and shortage.
Their situation has been worsened by the invasion of desert locusts, last year’s incessant floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
