The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for emergency funding to maintain life-saving interventions in Somalia.
WHO issued the appeal for emergency funding on April 7 during this year’s World Health Day.
In its appeal, the global health body provided a list of life-saving interventions that it’s making in the East African nation.
Among these are vaccination programs for children.
WHO said that it also screens malnourished children to reduce or prevent child mortality.
Mamunur Rahman Malik, WHO’s Country Representative for Somalia, issued the latest report on Thursday.
According to Malik, the global health organization needs urgent funding if it must continue saving lives and humanity from the ongoing drought in Somalia.
