The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a vaccination campaign that targets more than 400,000 children in Banadir region.
On August 31, WHO announced that it would be launching the campaign in all the 17 districts of Banadir region.
Moreover, the organization said its campaign would target children who are under 5 years.
During the campaign, around 491,643 children would be vaccinated against measles and polio. They would also be put through a deworming program.
Additionally, WHO plans to ensure that the children receive adequate vitamin A.
Consequently, the global health organization has dispatched around 600 teams in the region to implement the highly integrated campaign.
World Health Organization also announced that it would be working closely with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF Somalia to ensure that the campaign is a rousing success.
