Mamunur Rahman Malik says that fossil fuel is the biggest threat to the health of children in Somalia.
Malik is the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Somalia.
He was speaking during an event held to celebrate World Health Day in Somalia on Thursday, April 7.
According to Malik, the use of fossil fuels in Somali households around the country has increased substantially.
Consequently, this has affected the health of children around the East African nation.
The WHO Representative to Somalia urged authorities and other stakeholders to keep fossil fuels in the ground as a means of protecting children.
