The World Health Organization (WHO) has promised to help Somalia to eradicate viral hepatitis.
On Friday, representatives from the Somali government held discussions with their colleagues from the global health body to discuss viral hepatitis.
Officials from the Ministry of Health issued a joint statement with their WHO colleagues after the meeting.
Their discussions took place on World Hepatitis Day.
WHO promised to support the federal and regional governments to enhance access to universal health coverage.
Further, it vows to help with the testing and treatment of hepatitis.
The global body is prepared to provide vaccines needed to keep the disease under control all over the East African nation too.
