The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned Somalis of the likely breakout of cholera in the nation.
The latest WHO report mentions that Somalia could witness a sharp rise in the number of cholera cases.
According to the global health body, the situation will worsen because of the recent increase in heavy rains owing to the El Nino phenomenon.
This year, over 14,191 cases of cholera have been reported in the East African nation.
Most of the cases have been in 29 districts affected by drought.
Thus far, 38 people have lost their lives in the 29 districts to cholera.
As per the latest WHO report, the number of cholera cases in Somalia in the last two weeks has witnessed a sharp rise. The trend is likely to continue.
