Woman Rewarded for Denying Al-Shabaab Permission to Launch Attacks from Her House

A Somali woman received a financial reward from the government for denying Al-Shabaab permission to launch attacks from her house.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre handed over a cash award of $10,000 to Mama Farhiyo on Wednesday.

Mama Farhiyo lives in Mogadishu’s Kahda District.

She was commended for not giving in to demands by the terrorists to use her house as their base for launching bomb attacks.

Prime Minister Barre urged local authorities to repair the woman’s house.

Apparently, terrorists attempted to destroy it after she refused to accede to their demands.
